Something fun

Hi folksies!
Another banner event; a few posts consecutively! Spring must be affecting more than my allergies!
I took a few pics this morning to share with my HARTS sisters of a project that I am working on. It is a scrappy string quilt. I am wanting to use up scraps that I have collected and this works perfectly as a means of getting rid of them. I was inpsired by Bonnie Hunter of Quiltville - (the link is on my right panel for anyone interested in this fun and productive way of getting rid of scraps.) While this is not a new way of quilting, it is definintely a marvel for those of us who are scrambled in the brain. I love to see how the colors move together. I generally grab any random scrap from my box and that is what gets sewn next.

On the block above, I appliqued a flower for fun. I like having fun.

Lovely idea. I'm always on the look out for new ways of using up bits. The flower is sweet on top of the patchwork.

So lovely to see what you've been making.

I love this!! Heck, if I lived closer I'd be at your place so you could teach me how to quilt.
Don't be surprised if someday I show up on your doorstep! :> )

Well I have made 5 more blocks since posting this. I am grouping them by 10's so I now have 30 blocks. I have decided to do various flowers appliqued in places.
Khris, you really MUST do one of these. You too Melanie. It is so idiot proof.
And Peanut, if this old gal can sew a straight line, so can you. But you know you are welcome anytime, sweetie.
Courtney, I have always been CRAZY over CQ's. My first real love actually.
Now to dig through some of my mom's ancient stash of horrid fabrics. There may be a new life for them yet.
