Hope in a jar

About two weeks ago on a very bitterly cold day I went outside to get me a dose of hope.
I cut several forsythia frond (or yellow bells as we call them here) and put them in a old milk jug. I set them on a bright windowsill and waited.
This little ritual is performed each year by myself and countless others who long for the warmth of spring and the renewal that hope brings.
