Is this what being fashionably late is called?

Hello Folksies
I have always been a timely person.  The kind of gal that would rather wait on others than have them wait on me. I am a hairdresser by profession, so I know that sometimes 5 minutes off by some client stuck in traffic can throw me off for the rest of the day.  Still, there is no excuse for this behavior.  I have also been told and believe that once a pattern is established it becomes a habit.  Say it ain't so!  No promises being made but I will at least attempt to be more social.

So, what in the world have I been up to and where have I been? Well sir, I have been absolutely no where - in our little part of the world we had a big snow hit us and it finally melted away the first part of this week.  Then, we got hit with another one.  We do not handle snow well in this area.  If it was just snow, it would most likely be fun and fine.  However, we get ice mostly and this time was no different.  We had periods of snow then icing like on a cake.  Then snow, then another layer of ice. We have been hoping, praying and keeping fingers crossed that we don't lose power.  Oh, and we've been knocking on wood too.

Folks around here storm the stores before the storm, buying up large quantities of milk, bread, eggs.  I have never quite figured that one out.  If the power goes out, your milk will spoil, right?  I buy the necessaries for my household for snow days. It is called anything sweet.  Snow looks sugary, therefore I want to eat something sweet.  It must be a subliminal message somewhere.

Right now as I am looking out my window, the sun is bright, the snow is pretty, the birds are happy at their feeders.  There is not a snow plow in sight.  Hubs is home, I am praying there isn't a football game on anywhere in the universe - or any other sport for that matter.  I am not a Lifetime movie kind of girl but I think I will put on some Dexter episodes.  Or Lost.  Or even put The Tudors on.  I love them all.  Perhaps I will be able to hand stitch something small.

In case you haven't stopped in The Humble Arts yet, I need to let you know that I did the uploads early because of the weather. I was, and still am, concerned about ice and power lines.  So, wander on over.  We have an Alice in Wonderland theme that several of us created for.  Here is a peek:
